\n Ghislaine Maxwell was \u201costracized\u201d by locals while hiding out in Massachusetts after they learned the identity of their new neighbor, according to a report.<\/p>\n

Maxwell and her alleged beau, Scott Borgerson, were involved in a legal dispute last year with neighbors in Manchester-by-the-Sea, the quaint fishing town where Borgerson had purchased a $2.4 million oceanfront home called Phippin House, the Daily Mail reported.<\/p>\n

The 18th-century home, which was shipped from Salem by barge, sits on a 40-acre plot called Sharksmouth and was previously owned by Devereux and Jilda Barker. Five other properties are also on the estate, owned by Shelving Rock Trust, comprised of descendants of former owners.<\/p>\n

Borgerson, who bought the seven-bedroom abode in 2016, believed he could enjoy the same privileges as the Barkers, including access to the beach, tennis courts and pathways.<\/p>\n

But the Trust took issue \u2014 once Maxwell\u2019s notorious past was uncovered.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone told one of the trustees that they should look into her background and as soon as they did they decided to act,\u201d an anonymous Manchester-by-the-Sea resident told the Mail.<\/p>\n

The resident said at first Borgerson, 43, and Maxwell, 58, app<\/a>eared to be a \u201cnice couple,\u201d spotted jogging together and using the beach and tennis courts.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut when they realized who Maxwell was, the trustees were revolted,\u201d the person said. \u201cThey wanted to ostracize them as much as possible and make them feel they weren\u2019t welcome on Sharksmouth or in Manchester.\u201d<\/p>\n

In April 2019, Borgerson\u2019s Tidewood LLC, used to purchase Phippin House, sued the Trust in Massachusetts Land Court over use of the privileges, according to documents obtained by the Mail.<\/p>\n

The trustees countersued Borgerson and Maxwell but lost the court battle.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
