“#’Jeopardy!’ Fans Are Stunned By ‘Super Easy’ Final Clue<\/strong>”

It\u2019s always a triumphant feeling when you know the answer to a Final Jeopardy! clue, but Tuesday July 7\u2019s episode of the long-running quiz show might have been a little too easy for some viewers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2019, this public university attempted to trademark the word \u201cThe\u201d for use on clothing and hats,\u201d said guest host, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, revealing the final clue from the \u201ccolleges and universities\u201d category. The contestants were given the usual 30 seconds to write down their answers, but they clearly didn\u2019t need all the allotted time to make their minds up.<\/p>\n

The answer, of course, was Ohio State University, which, in 2019, tried to trademark \u201cThe Ohio State University\u201d for use on T-shirts, hats, and other merchandise. The request was denied by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which said that the app<\/a>lication didn\u2019t prove \u201cThe\u201d functions as a trademark, meaning the use of the word didn\u2019t distinguish OSU\u2019s merch from any other.<\/p>\n

All three Jeopardy!<\/em> contestants got the answer correct, as well as many viewers who felt that the clue was a little too simple. One Twitter<\/a> user wrote that it was \u201cthe easiest Final Jeopardy! question ever,\u201d while another fan wondered if the show was \u201ceven trying anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
