The documentary boasts to have been \u201cmore than 40 years in the making\u201d and features tons of unseen footage from Kilmer\u2019s personal recordings. The actor brought his camera almost everywhere he went, and the trailer shows behind-the-scenes footage from classics like\u00a0<em><strong>Tombstone<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0<em><strong>Top Gun<\/strong><\/em>, and more.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Val_Trailer\"><\/span>Val Trailer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"VAL - Official Trailer | Prime Video\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YqNnhgEyQCU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->Kilmer has been out of the limelight for some time after a two-year battle with throat cancer. His voice has been reduced to a rasp, and he must speak with a larynx speech aid device. His son, Jack, did voiceover work for the film (and ostensibly, the trailer) as a stand-in for his father. Despite his difficulty speaking, however, Kilmer wanted to be vocal about his experiences in Hollywood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is difficult to talk and be understood,\u201d he says through Jack\u2019s voiceover. \u201cBut I want to tell my story more than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actor notes that he was the first person he knew to own a video camera. There\u2019s footage of him recording himself and others on various film sets \u2014 Kevin Bacon seems particularly intrigued by Kilmer\u2019s camera. He records everything until he\u2019s told not to, and maybe even after that, to the chagrin of several collaborators shown in the trailer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m an actor. I\u2019ve lived a magical life. And I\u2019ve captured quite a bit of it,\u201d Kilmer narrates over grainy video footage.
