{"id":293480,"date":"2021-07-08T02:11:23","date_gmt":"2021-07-07T23:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/donovan-richards-proves-a-sore-and-arrogant-winner\/"},"modified":"2021-07-08T02:11:23","modified_gmt":"2021-07-07T23:11:23","slug":"donovan-richards-proves-a-sore-and-arrogant-winner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/donovan-richards-proves-a-sore-and-arrogant-winner\/","title":{"rendered":"#Donovan Richards proves a sore (and arrogant) winner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Donovan Richards proves a sore (and arrogant) winner<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/07\/donovan-richards-queens-130.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Boy, is Queens Borough President Donovan Richards a sore winner \u2014 especially for a guy whose \u201cwin\u201d isn\u2019t truly in the bank yet.<\/p>\n<p>After updated-but-not-final primary results came down Tuesday night, he issued a disgraceful lambast of his opponent Elizabeth Crowley as a racist, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DRichardsQNS\/status\/1412582639089897477\">tweeting<\/a>: \u201cWe beat your racist ass,\u201d and later <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DRichardsQNS\/status\/1412581443008598016\">claimed<\/a> she told him \u201cshe would win, because BLM [Black Lives Matter] would die\u201d \u2014 which doesn\u2019t even sound like her.<\/p>\n<p>In answer to significant backlash, Richards doubled down, insisting Crowley used the \u201cpolitics of fear\u201d and \u201cracist dog whistles within her messages on public safety\u201d \u2014 but he offered no concrete examples of Crowley\u2019s supposed racism.<\/p>\n<p>What a contrast to Kathryn Garcia\u2019s graceful acceptance of her razor-thin loss to Eric Adams in the mayoral race and Assemblywoman Jo Anne Simon\u2019s classy tweet after <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thecity.nyc\/2021\/7\/6\/22565995\/richards-leads-queens-borough-race-trump-helps-fossella-win\">losing a close contest for Brooklyn borough president<\/a> to City Councilman Antonio Reynoso: \u201cCongratulations to you Antonio on your victory and a great campaign. I look forward to working with you to recover and build a post-COVID Brooklyn for everyone.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>By the way, Richards may yet lose to Crowley; the race may even need a manual recount.
