Ted Cruz (R-Texas), calling it a \u201ccalculated, cynical lie\u201d in an op-ed published by Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a> Monday. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor them to come out and claim that it\u2019s Republicans who want to defund the police, that\u2019s like an arsonist showing up at the fire and blaming the firemen,\u201d Cruz told the same outlet last week. \u201cThat\u2019s like the Chinese blaming the Americans for the Wuhan virus. That\u2019s like OJ [Simpson] saying he\u2019s gonna help find the real killer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cruz added at the time that the White House argument was the latest example of Democrats \u201ctrying to claim, \u2018These aren\u2019t the droids you\u2019re looking for\u2019 and they\u2019ve never supported it [the \u2018defund the police\u2019 movement] \u2026 It\u2019s absurd [and] it\u2019s ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration responded to Cruz\u2019s claims last week by pointing to Republican support for former President Donald Trump\u2019s proposal to excise $170 million from the Justice Department\u2019s Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program. <\/p>\n<p>According to Rizzo, \u201cPsaki and the White House are on more solid ground by framing this talking point in terms of the COPS program \u2026 That\u2019s the only thing keeping this talking point from being a Four Pinocchio claim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree Pinocchios,\u201d according to the Washington Post fact-checking rubric, are given to claims that contain \u201c[s]ignificant factual error and\/or obvious contradictions.\u201d Pinocchios are awarded on a scale of one to four, with \u201cFour Pinocchios\u201d being the most severe rebuke.\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
