Megan Fox, the outspoken \u201cTransformers\u201d star who seemed to flame out in Hollywood after speaking out about the industry\u2019s hypersexualization of women, is having a resurgence. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a little bit like being a phoenix, like being resurrected from the ashes,\u201d Fox told Instyle<\/a>. The raven haired actress, 35, talked to the magazine about being vindicated in a post #Metoo Hollywood, where the script<\/a> has flipped and women are objecting to being objectified.<\/p>\n

In a 2009 interview with Wonderland magazine, she broke the Tinseltown omerta and bashed \u201cTransformers\u201d director Michael Bay, saying \u201che wants to be like Hitler on his sets\u201d and suggesting that she was upset with the way he filmed her lasciviously.<\/p>\n

She was dropped from the franchise\u2019s third installment, \u201cTransformers: Dark of the Moon,\u201d and Bay told GQ<\/a> that executive producer Steven Spielberg was behind the directive. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was brought out and stoned and murdered at one point,\u201d she said of the past decade. \u201cAnd then suddenly everybody\u2019s like, \u2018Wait a second. We shouldn\u2019t have done that. Let\u2019s bring her back.\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n

She partially retreated from the Hollywood scene after \u201cJennifer\u2019s Body\u201d \u2014 a racy 2009 flick that was a comedy horror film but advertised as a racy thriller. Fox also married \u201c90210\u201d star Brian Austin Green with whom she had three children.<\/p>\n

But she said she had an epiphany while in South Africa filming the 2020 flick \u201cRogue.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI took all my crystals, and I set up my little temple inside my room. I turned on this massive TV, and\u00a0\u2018Jonah Hex\u2019\u00a0was on, which got panned in the press. It was supposed to be terrible.\u201d <\/p>\n

She realized the criticism was overblown. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat night, I stayed up and promised myself that I would never live one more day of my life from fear. I came home, and my whole life changed. I got a divorce and I started working more and doing more things,\u201d said Fox, who is also in a high-profile relationship with rapper Machine Gun Kelly<\/a>. \u201cThen literally everything exploded from there,\u201d\u00a0she said.<\/p>\n

Her work in \u201cJonah Hex\u201d and \u201cJennifer\u2019s Body\u201d has also been praised online by younger women on seeing it through a more modern, feminist lens.<\/p>\n

In her next act, she plans to be just as unapologetic.<\/p>\n

\u201cI won\u2019t lie, I do want to find a Marvel or a DC character that I\u2019ve always wanted to play, and do one of those,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cPeople hate on you as an actor for that because it doesn\u2019t get you the big awards. I don\u2019t give a f\u2013k. Give me an MTV award. I don\u2019t need a fucking BAFTA.\u201d\u00a0\n <\/p><\/div>\n
