I thought not.<\/p>\n<p>Times change. So, eventually, do the TV comedies that over the years have served as an escape, a source of comfort and joy, and on occasion a mirror of an ever-evolving society. CNN\u2019s eight-part <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> <i>History of the Sitcom<\/i>, a dizzyingly brisk survey of the genre\u2019s origins and growing pains, is at its best when it takes a breath to dwell on those pivotal moments when sitcoms got real, changing the medium forever.<\/p>\n<p>From the producers of the terrific <i>The Story of Late Night<\/i> docuseries, <i>Sitcom<\/i> adopts a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a>d approach in its broad overview: \u201cOutsiders,\u201d \u201cJust Friends,\u201d \u201cWorking for Laughs,\u201d \u201cRace and Diversity.\u201d The series opens with back-to-back episodes, starting with \u201cA Family Matter,\u201d which explores the family sitcom\u2019s traditional roots, when father knew best and even wacky moms like Lucille Ball were kept or put in their place.<\/p>\n<p>All of that changed with Norman Lear\u2019s <i>All in the Family<\/i> in 1971, which bucked decades of sanitized family behavior by introducing Carroll O\u2019Connor\u2019s bigoted, fuming Archie Bunker. We\u2019re shown clips from two pilots rejected by ABC\u2014with two sets of young unknowns as Mike and Gloria preceding Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers\u2014before CBS had the guts to give a third shot to Lear. The rest is TV history.<\/p>\n<p>The second episode, \u201cSex and the Sitcom,\u201d enlists an array of critics, authors, producers and performers to comment on the emergence of the independent woman\u2014from <i>That Girl<\/i> and <i>The Mary Tyler Moore Show<\/i> to the uninhibited heroines of HBO\u2019s <i>Sex and the City<\/i> and <i>Insecure<\/i>\u2014and the slow coming out of LGBTQ characters on TV.
