The Brooklyn teenager charged with shooting a tourist in Times Square has been \u201ca little troublesome-ass boy\u201d since moving into his Bushwick neighborhood last year, neighbors told The Post on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Avon Darden, 16, who is awaiting arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court in the June 27 wounding of newlywed US Marine Samuel Poulin, is known for causing fights in the area, neighbors said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat short-ass, little troublesome-ass boy,\u201d one local said of Darden. \u201cI know he is always in trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another neighbor agreed, saying the teen \u201cis always in trouble \u2014 fighting and stuff like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are new here,\u201d said the neighbor on Debevoise Avenue. \u201cThey moved in just before the pandemic. His mother is hardly there. He is always there by himself. I see him in the hallway smoking weed with his friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said he\u2019s not shocked Darden was nabbed for allegedly trying to gun down a street performer in Times Square.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d he said. \u201cNobody will be surprised.\u201d<\/p>\n

The teenager turned himself in to the Midtown South police precinct on Wednesday, police sources said.<\/p>\n

He is accused of opening fire at the Crossroads of the World after feuding with a street performer, with one of the shots ricocheting and striking Poulin in the back. <\/p>\n

The Marine was visiting the Big App<\/a>le from upstate to attend a baptism.<\/p>\n

He and his family were walking past the Marriott hotel on West 45th Street around 5:15 p.m. when he was hit. <\/p>\n

Cops charged Darden with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s horrible,\u201d one Bushwick neighbor said. \u201cIt\u2019s horrible. He is only 16 years old.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is walking around with a gun,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019m glad he ain\u2019t here no more. He could have killed someone. I\u2019m scared.\u201d<\/p>\n

The neighbors asked not to be identified for fear of retribution. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t like this,\u201d said the woman, who moved into the area in 1971. \u201cNow people are out here, fighting each other, shooting each other. I don\u2019t understand it.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
