The movie is premiering at the Cannes Film Festival this week before arriving in theaters later this month. Which means it\u2019s time for me to round up all the <em>Stillwater\u00a0<\/em>details you need to know \u2013 because knowing is half the battle.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Stillwater_Release_Date_and_Where_You_Can_Watch_It\"><\/span><strong>Stillwater Release Date and Where You Can Watch It<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post --><em>Stillwater<\/em> will open on\u00a0<strong>July 30, 2021<\/strong>. As of now, it\u2019s a release exclusive to theaters (Focus Features is distributing the film, and they have yet to launch some sort of half-assed streaming service like Focus Features+ just yet \u2013 although they do have a VOD service called\u00a0Focus World). And FYI, if you\u2019re headed to the theater to see this bad boy, just know it clocks in at 140 minutes. So maybe get a small soda instead of a large.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_Stillwater\"><\/span><strong>What is Stillwater<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><em>Stillwater<\/em> is the latest movie from\u00a0<strong>Tom McCarthy<\/strong>, the filmmaker behind\u00a0<em>Spotlight<\/em>. Despite its title, it\u2019s <em>not<\/em> a movie about the band from\u00a0<em>Almost Famous<\/em>.\u00a0It is, however, the rare original movie not inspired by a comic book, or a TV show, or a video <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>, so we should probably try to embrace this one, folks! The more studios see we want to watch original stuff, the more original stuff they\u2019ll greenlight! Then again, if the movie turns out to be bad, that\u2019s another story.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Stillwater_Synopsis\"><\/span><strong>Stillwater Synopsis<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Here\u2019s the\u00a0<em>Stillwater<\/em> synopsis:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A dramatic thriller directed by Academy Award winner Tom McCarthy and starring Matt Damon, Stillwater follows an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma who <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>s to Marseille to visit his estranged daughter, in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit. McCarthy\u2019s eclectic directing career includes\u00a0<em>The Station Agent<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Visitor<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Cobbler<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Spotlight<\/em>, and more. McCarthy also wrote the\u00a0<em>Stillwater<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>, along with\u00a0<strong>Marcus Hinchey<\/strong>, <strong>Thomas Bidegain<\/strong>,<strong> No\u00e9 Debr\u00e9<\/strong>. It\u2019s not always a great sign when four writers are credited to one movie, but it\u2019s not always a bad thing, either.\u00a0<strong>Steve Golin<\/strong>, Tom McCarthy<strong>, Jonathan King<\/strong>, and <strong>Liza Chasin<\/strong> are the film\u2019s producers.\u00a0<strong>Masanobu Takayanagi<\/strong> (<em>The Grey<\/em>) is the cinematographer.\u00a0<strong>Mychael Danna<\/strong> (<em>Moneyball<\/em>) handles the musical score.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Stillwater_Cast\"><\/span><strong>Stillwater Cast<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->The\u00a0<em>Stillwater<\/em> cast includes\u00a0<strong>Matt Damon<\/strong> as Bill Baker, <strong>Abigail Breslin<\/strong> as Allison Baker, <strong>Camille Cottin<\/strong> as Virginie, <strong>Lilou Siauvaud<\/strong> as Maya, and <strong>Deanna Dunagan<\/strong> as Sharon. Damon is sporting a goatee and using a very thick accent here, which will either work in his favor or backfire terribly.
