SUN VALLEY, Idaho \u2014 Media<\/a> tongues are wagging about what potential streaming collaborations might be brewing in the wake of this week\u2019s Allen & Co. conference for tech and media moguls. <\/p>\n

The powwows between media bosses at the Sun Valley confab reached a new level of intensity this year, including meetings between bosses at Disney and Netflix as well as at Comcast and Viacom\/CBS, one source told The Post. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like speed-dating\u201d one conference attendee said of the frenetic pace of meetings at the Allen & Company conference. \u201cEveryone is on everyone\u2019s dance card.\u201d<\/p>\n

Comcast CEO Brian Roberts, who has been reportedly mulling a potential acquisition of media assets, met with ViacomCBS Chair president Shari Redstone on Wednesday, according to an attendee with knowledge of the sitdown.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cShari, Brian, and the major sports commissioners \u2014 like MLB\u2019s Rob Manfred and NFL\u2019s Roger Goodell have really made the rounds,\u201d the attendee said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On her way into Sun Valley cafe Konditorei, The Post asked Redstone about her meeting with Roberts. <\/p>\n

\u201cI meet with everyone,\u201d a perky Redstone replied before grabbing a latte and heading off to a 9:40 a.m. session hosted by the King of Jordan.<\/p>\n

Even rivals Disney and Netflix powwowed this year, said the source of a sit-down between Disney CEO Bob Chapek and Disney Chairman Bob Iger\u2019s with Netflix\u2019s Reed Hastings and Ted Sarandos. <\/p>\n

While a Disney\/Netflix union is unlikely, sources say the group could\u2019ve been gabbing about possible collaborations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could be Netflix and Disney collaborate on creative deals or monetize some parts of the library,\u201d Neil Begley, a Moody\u2019s SVP tells The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cESPN (a Disney subsidiary) already did a collaboration with Netflix on a Michael Jordan series<\/a> so there\u2019s a precedent there.\u201d Begley said noting that in order to compete in this environment companies need to cut costs and likely work together.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Disney and Netflix did not immediately respond to request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The meetings come as the streaming wars continue to heat up, forcing collaborations big and small, with the biggest so far being the planned merger between Discovery and WarnerMedia. <\/p>\n

Looming large is the threat of Amazon or App<\/a>le taking an even larger role in the media space. Amazon\u2019s $8.5 billion purchase of MGM Studios \u2014 which is\u00a0facing federal antitrust scrutiny\u00a0\u2014 has made it clear that Bezos and new Amazon CEO Andy Jassy are willing to shell out big bucks to compete with streaming rivals like Netflix and Hulu.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The online retailer on Thursday revealed that it\u2019s also willing to join forces, saying it will offer new live action movies from Comcast\u2019s Universal Pictures<\/a>\u00a0four months after they debut on NBC\u2019s struggling streaming service Peacock. The news<\/a> comes as Bezos \u2014 who was seen clinking glasses with Facebook\u2019s Sheryl Sandberg and Mark Zuckerberg Wednesday evening \u2014 attends the Allen & Co. confab with Comcast\u2019s Roberts and NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell.\n <\/div>\n
