{"id":294621,"date":"2021-07-09T01:05:45","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T22:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/spongebobs-starfish-sidekick-gets-new-series\/"},"modified":"2021-07-09T01:05:45","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T22:05:45","slug":"spongebobs-starfish-sidekick-gets-new-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/spongebobs-starfish-sidekick-gets-new-series\/","title":{"rendered":"#SpongeBob&#8217;s starfish sidekick gets new series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#SpongeBob&#8217;s starfish sidekick gets new <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a><\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>TV\u2019s latest talk-show host is already underwater.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Star, the enthusiastic, dim-bulb starfish \u2014 and best pal to SpongeBob SquarePants \u2014 is headlining his own spinoff series, \u201cThe Patrick Star Show,\u201d an animated series in which Patrick hosts an imaginary talk show while gallivanting with his friends and learning life lessons. <\/p>\n<p>It premieres Friday at 7 p.m. on Nickelodeon and stars Bill Fagerbakke, who\u2019s voiced Patrick since \u201cSpongeBob SquarePants\u201d premiered in 1999 and on its CGI spinoff series \u201cKamp Koral,\u201d which streams on Paramount+. (He will continue as a cast member in both shows.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a heady kind of terror with which I greeted this,\u201d Fagerbakke, 63, told The Post. \u201cSpongeBob is so revered by his fans and it was really hard for me to think of Patrick without being in concert with SpongeBob, so I was very concerned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the creative team here [Marc Ceccarelli, Vincent Waller and Jennie Monica] is really great and it fits and it\u2019s so unique in its narrative style,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s almost like watching \u2018Monty Python\u2019s Flying Circus\u2019 \u2026 it just jumps from one thing to another. The good-natured starfish, who lives in Bikini Bottom with SpongeBob, Squidward et al. is extremely popular with fans and is the first \u201cSpongeBob\u201d character to get his own series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was something that [Nickelodeon president] Brian Robbins wanted to explore,\u201d Fagerbakke said. \u201cHe gave the creative team the freedom to do this. It\u2019s unusual \u2014 when you\u2019re studying theater in college, nothing prepares you for something that lasts over 20 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Each 11-minute episode of \u201cThe Patrick Star Show\u201d features the protagonist tackling a variety of situations in quick-cut vignettes, interspersed with his TV gig hosting \u201cThe Patrick Show,\u201d including the requisite cooking segment, commercials (for the Chum Bucket) and other meta elements. That was the only sighting of his mom and dad, so this is essentially a new concept.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to SpongeBob, there are appearances from other Bikini Bottom denizens including Squidward, Sandy Cheeks, Mr. Krabs and Plankton. Tom Kenny, who plays SpongeBob, is directly involved in \u201cThe Patrick Star Show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s our session director,\u201d Fagerbakke said. \u201cThere\u2019s obviously no one who knows this world and its sensibilities better than him, so that\u2019s invaluable. It means a lot of hours for Tom to do just one episode.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fagerbakke said he does have some input into the character, given his long history with Patrick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are occasionally moments like that,\u201d he said. \u201cThere\u2019s so much work that goes into one moment, visually and on the page, so [each episode] is very specifically created by the time I see [the script]. In many ways it\u2019s a finished product; there are occasions, though, where I\u2019m certainly happy to contribute when I can. With \u2018SpongeBob\u2019 we developed an approach years ago where we do it as written and then get a \u2018free pass\u2019 for any ideas or ad-libs and we all take that very seriously.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just about making each other laugh, but coming up with something germane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And, Fagerbakke said, Patrick has not been spoiled by the fact that he\u2019s now headlining his own series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s extremely loyal and fun loving \u2014 essentially he\u2019s a gelatinous pile of impulses,\u201d he said. \u201cHe\u2019s really an animal of instinct and craving.\u201d\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
