Three people, including two cops, were injured when an SUV driver with unauthorized lights and sirens slammed into a marked NYPD patrol car in Brooklyn on Thursday night, sources said.<\/p>\n

The driver of the black Ford Explorer, a 29-year-old man, sped around traffic into an oncoming lane before crashing into a police vehicle at the intersection of Coney Island Avenue and Foster Avenue in Kensington at about 7:30 p.m., according to sources.<\/p>\n

After the initial impact, the SUV, which did not have license plates, rolled into a light pole, knocking it down, sources said.<\/p>\n

Two officers in the car, which had its lights on, were injured and hospitalized, sources said.<\/p>\n

The SUV driver was also injured, and video showed him lying bloodied on the street before medical help arrived.<\/p>\n

The man uttered to responding officers that he was on his way to pick up food when he crashed, sources said.<\/p>\n

Sources said the driver is not affiliated with any of the Jewish community\u2019s first responder groups, who frequently patrol the area in similar vehicles.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He has a history of reckless driving, with dozens of moving violations and 13 previous accidents, sources said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a goddamn menace!\u201d said a source.<\/p>\n

The man\u2019s latest driving ticket was for speeding in a 2019 Toyota, sources said.<\/p>\n

In connection to Thursday night\u2019s crash, sources said the man is expected to be charged.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
