Gor\u014d Miyazaki (director of \u201cThe Chronicles of Earth Sea\u201d, \u201cThe Poppy Mountain\u201d), the son of the renowned studio co-creator Hayao Miyazaki, directed the book adaptation.<\/p>\n<p>In this country, LEONINE Anime (formerly called Universum Anime) has secured the license to the TV film.  It is planned to use this as a <strong>&#8220;Aya and the witch&#8221;<\/strong> am <strong>24. September 2021<\/strong> on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.<\/p>\n<p>After the television broadcast, a theatrical version of \u201cAya and the Witch\u201d was announced.  The version with exclusive scenes planned for April 2021 in Japan had to be postponed to August 27, 2021 due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>According to the US licensee GKIDS, who released the film in several ways in early 2021, the theatrical version, which has not yet been released in Japan, is already being offered in the United States.  At the moment it is not known whether LEONINE Anime will publish the TV or theatrical version.  Only those <strong>FSK approval from 6<\/strong> has been confirmed since May 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is what the film is about:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>England, early 1990s: Aya, descended from powerful witches, is left behind in the St. Morwald orphanage.  While the other children want to be adopted as soon as possible in order to escape the home, the witch girl loves it there.  Aya manages to scare off all potential adoptive parents with the help of her magical powers by her 10th birthday.
