But as the world has opened up again, the future looks less rosy for a growing number of animals sent to\u00a0shelters\u00a0or adoption centers by owners without the time or money to care for them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the rescue world, we kind of saw it coming,\u201d said Chloe Esperiquette, development coordinator at Wags and Walks adoption center in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe received prior to the\u00a0pandemic\u00a0five to 10 inquiries per month for people who couldn\u2019t care for their\u00a0dogs\u00a0anymore. \u2026 That\u2019s like doubled since in recent months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wags and Walks, like many similar establishments, is back to full capacity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery year in the United States, 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized,\u201d including 670,000\u00a0dogs, said Esperiquette. \u201cAt Wags we save <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roximately 1,000\u00a0dogs\u00a0a year.
