It was udder madness in Bangladesh as thousands ignored a national COVID-19 lockdown to gawk at what could be the world\u2019s smallest cow.<\/p>\n

Rani, a 23-month-old dwarf cow, has attracted throngs of fans and reporters since her small stature went viral on social media<\/a>, according to Agence France-Presse<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have never seen anything like this in my life. Never,\u201d said Rina Begum, 30, who came from a nearby town to check out the minute mammal. <\/p>\n

The bovine star stands at just 20 inches tall and is only 25 inches long, which farmers claim makes her the world\u2019s tiniest cow, according to the report.<\/p>\n

The manager of Shikor Agro farm in Charigram said that the Guinness World Records had promised to rule on the 57 pound cow\u2019s status within three months.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore than 15,000 people have come to see Rani in the past three days alone.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople come long distances despite the coronavirus lockdown. Most want to take selfies with Rani,\u201d M A\u00a0Hasan Howlader told the outlet.<\/p>\n

The onslaught of gawkers has Bangladeshi officials concerned as COVID-19 deaths surged this week.<\/p>\n

Bangladesh reported 211 coronavirus deaths on Friday, a record high since the start of the pandemic, according to the World Health Organization<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A strict lockdown is in effect until July 14.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told them they should not allow so many people to crowd the farm. They may carry diseases here that threaten Rani\u2019s health,\u201d Sajedul Islam, the government\u2019s chief vet for the region, told the outlet.<\/p>\n

Islam reportedly said the dwarf cow was the result of \u201cgenetic inbreeding,\u201d and would not likely grow.<\/p>\n
