“#Mom names babies ‘Slayer,’ ‘Pantera’ and ‘Metallica’”

Born yesterday and already heavy metal rocking.

A New Zealand mom has transformed her children into tiny rock and rollers by naming them Slayer, Pantera and Metallica, documentary filmmaker David Farrier reported this week in his newsletter, Webworm.

Additionally, Metallica’s middle name is And Justice For All, an ode to the band’s fourth studio album.

“Proud to report that a New Zealand mother has named her children Metallica, Pantera and Slayer,” wrote Farrier. “She told me, ‘It’s not easy raising three of the heaviest bands.’ ”

Farrier — whose credits include creating the Netflix series “Dark Tourist” — does not identify the mother, but to verify her headbanging claim, he sought out the babies’ birth certificates.

“I reached out to the Registrar General himself, asking if there are any restrictions naming babies after band names, or albums,” Farrier wrote. New Zealand Registrar General Jeff Montgomery responded to say there are not, with a few reservations.

“There are no restrictions on naming babies after bands or albums, as long as the word used is not generally considered to be offensive or does not resemble an official rank or title,” Montgomery answered, according to music publication Consequence.

While Farrier doesn’t offer a name for the mom, he did post a photo of her doing one of her favorite things.

“I think it’s important to note (as you can see in the photo in my article) this mother is also a big fan of crossbows which are also truly metal and she deserves our complete and utter respect for this (and for raising three kids),” Farrier tweeted.

Unfortunately, research has found that giving your children odd monikers may inhibit their prospects of ascending into political office. It can also limit their employment opportunities and social prospects.

On the bright side, it can, obviously, also lead to positive media attention, being more memorable to friends and colleagues as well as higher-quality nicknames.
