“#Activist Rod Webber charged with vandalizing NYC gallery selling art Hunter Biden released<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Art interrupter Rod Webber, who was busted for vandalizing the Soho gallery hawking Hunter Biden\u2019s paintings, said Saturday that he wanted to protest President Biden\u2019s \u201cwar crimes\u201d \u2014 but had no beef with the artwork itself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t hate it. It\u2019s better than he should be for having only been working on it for a short period of time,\u201d Webber said of the younger Biden\u2019s work which is scheduled to be sold this fall by the Georges Berges Gallery. <\/p>\n

The work itself is not on display in Soho, but images of it have been widely circulated.<\/p>\n

Webber is accused of arriving at the West Broadway gallery around 4 p.m. Friday and spray painting Daddy backwards on the wall.<\/p>\n

He told a police officer \u201cI was trying to paint the phrase, \u2018Daddy is a war criminal,\u2019 \u201d a prosecutor said Saturday at Webber\u2019s arraignment in Manhattan criminal court.<\/p>\n

He was charged with assault, criminal mischief, attempted assault, making graffiti, and possession of graffiti instruments.<\/p>\n

Webber, who famously ate a banana off the wall of an installation at Art Basel in Miami in 2019, was released without bail. He was barred from returning to the gallery at\u00a0462 West Broadway<\/p>\n

At the end of the court proceeding, he pulled his mask down, puckered his lips and gave a thumbs up to the judge. <\/p>\n

He later told The Post he was following the news<\/a> about Biden\u2019s paintings, which are expected to be offered for up to $500,000 despite having the artist having no track record.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile Hunter Biden and his artwork is, you know, it\u2019s not bad, it\u2019s curious to me that it\u2019s raising prices of half a million dollars just out of the blue. It says to me that there\u2019s some kind of malfeasance there,\u201d Webber said<\/p>\n

He took issue with the gallery staffer who tried to detain him after the incident by \u201cwith his big ass girthy body was on top of me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI said \u2018Listen man, you\u2019re out of shape. I could take you right now, but I came here peacefully, will you just please let me go?\u2019 \u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Says he may file civil suit against the man who \u201cattacked\u201d him:<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t assault the guy, he assaulted me.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
