An unhinged man randomly beat a 70-year-old woman in a brazen broad-daylight attack in the East Village, police said.<\/p>\n

The disheveled creep hit the woman over the head with an unknown object as she stood on East 14th Street near Second Avenue around 10:40 a.m. on Friday, cops said.<\/p>\n

The man was carrying a drink in a plastic cup, a plastic bag and several clothing items at the time of the unprovoked assault, according to pictures released by the NYPD.<\/p>\n

The elderly bystander fell to the ground and was treated at a local hospital for cuts to her wrist and elbow, according to cops.<\/p>\n

The suspect fled the scene and was still being sought by detectives.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
