Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a> took a shot at a Colorado Republican congresswoman who urged the government to end extra jobless benefits, saying Rep. Lauren Boebert was spouting \u201cgood ol conservative values.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTell \u2018em loud and proud girl! GOP will strip<\/a> your unemployment protections and dismantle any semblance of a public safety net we have left!,\u201d the New York Democrat said on Twitter<\/a> Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen make working people pay way more for everything on low wages while Wall St gets a meal ticket! Good ol conservative values baby!,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Boebert, speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference<\/a> in Dallas, drew cheers when she blasted the Biden administration\u2019s coronavirus relief plan and its response to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re here to tell the government we don\u2019t want your benefits, we don\u2019t want your welfare. Don\u2019t come knocking on my door with your Fauci ouchie, you leave us the hell alone,\u201d Boebert\u00a0said, referring to Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is one of the top advisers to the White House on COVID-19.<\/p>\n

Boebert also lashed out at the administration\u2019s coronavirus restrictions, which she\u00a0has\u00a0staunchly\u00a0opposed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been living under tyrannical rule that wants to keep us separated. Keep us isolated. Keep us locked down and muzzle our children,\u201d\u00a0Boebert\u00a0said. \u201cThat is not the American dream and we are fighting to expose their agenda and make sure we have these God-given rights that\u2019s guaranteed to us not by corrupt politicians but by God almighty.\u201d<\/p>\n

President Biden\u2019s American Rescue Plan, passed by Congress in March, offers $300 in enhanced unemployment benefits weekly until September.<\/p>\n

But a number of Republican governors have ended those benefits early because they say the extra funds are keeping unemployed Americans from taking jobs, leaving businesses struggling to find help.<\/p>\n

Boebert singled out Ocasio-Cortez in her 2020 Republican primary run against incumbent Rep. Scott Tipton.<\/p>\n
