And then again in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ucp0TTmvqOE&amp;t=9355s&amp;ab_channel=Tesla\">2019<\/a>. Well, if you\u2019re a Tesla fan, you already know that none of these commitments were fulfilled.<\/p>\n<p>So when, earlier this month, Musk swore on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> that the \u201cFSD Beta 9 is shipping soon,\u201d it came as a surprise that he actually held true to his word.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Haha, FSD 9 beta is shipping soon, I swear!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a>ized self-driving is a hard problem, as it requires solving a large part of real-world AI. Didn\u2019t expect it to be so hard, but the difficulty is obvious in retrospect.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing has more degrees of freedom than reality.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1411280212470366213?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 3, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Saturday, the company released the software update to some <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1370522745709158407\">2,000 users<\/a> in its \u201cEarly Access Program.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Running preproduction software is both work &amp; fun. Beta list was in stasis, as we had many known issues to fix.<\/p>\n<p>Beta 9 addresses most known issues, but there will be unknown issues, so please be paranoid.<\/p>\n<p>Safety is always top priority at Tesla.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1413306409693892613?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 9, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While Musk usually presents updates and new releases in a rather overconfident way, this time you can notice on his post an emphasis on potential limitations and oversights.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, this is even more amplified in the software release notes:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span>Full Self-Driving is in early limited access Beta and must be used with additional caution. It may do the wrong thing at the worst time, so you must always keep your hands on the wheel and pay extra attention on the road. Do not become complacent. When Full Self-Driving is enabled your vehicle will make lane changes off highway, select forks to follow your navigation route, navigate around other vehicles and objects, and make left and right turns. Tesla is <em>finally<\/em> warning about complacency, while admitting that its system may fail and \u201cdo the wrong thing at the worst time.\u201d That\u2019s definitely a step in the right direction, as much as it is a necessary move for the company\u2019s safety reputation.<\/p>\n<p>Since the Autopilot release in 2015, there have been at least <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tesladeaths.com\/\">11 deaths in nine crashes<\/a> in the US, where the driver assistance system was engaged. There have also been too many Autopilot abuse instances to name.
