A UK man realized every arachnophobe\u2019s worst nightmare after an alleged spider bite left him with a ghastly, flesh-eating wound that wouldn\u2019t heal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t stand spiders,\u201d Carl Jones told SWNS of the horrific saga, which began in January after the Bucks native noticed a mysterious blister on his bicep, the Daily Star reported.<\/a><\/p>\n

Unsure as to what caused the mark, the 26-year-old lab technician checked into urgent care. Unfortunately, doctors were equally miffed by the blemish and simply dressed the wound. <\/p>\n

Shortly thereafter, Jones\u2019 condition began to deteriorate.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was at work and someone said I didn\u2019t look very well,\u201d recounted the perplexed patient. \u201cI experienced lots of sweating and fevers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eventually, the blister ballooned up into a revolting coin-sized crater that was filled with pus.<\/p>\n

Jones was subsequently rushed to the hospital, where \u201che underwent investigations for Borrelia, TB and eventually skin cancer as the wound wasn\u2019t healing,\u201d the terrified soul recalled.<\/p>\n

Doctors tried to remedy Carl\u2019s flesh-eating pustule by prescribing him three different antibiotics, but to no avail.<\/p>\n

Salvation finally came in June, five months after the bite initially app<\/a>eared, when Jones underwent a biopsy, in which doctors excised the infected portion of the wound, the Sun reported. <\/a><\/p>\n

A few weeks later, the poor soul finally discovered what he believed to be the culprit \u2014 a noble false widow spider in his bathroom. <\/p>\n

\u201cI came home from work the other night and I\u2019ve never seen anything like it before,\u201d said the recovering patient of the spider, a moderately venomous species of non-native UK arachnid<\/a> that\u2019s often confused with the highly toxic Black Widow in the US.<\/p>\n

\u201cI looked into cases around Milton Keynes and I saw a news<\/a> article about an increase of false widows in the area,\u201d said, Jones adding, \u201cI just put two and two together really.\u201d<\/p>\n

And while the gentle soul normally takes spiders outside, Jones decided to kill this specimen to prevent it from potentially putting him in the hospital again.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time a seemingly innocuous boo-boo has metastasized into a serious skin condition. Last month, a California man redefined \u201crazor rash\u201d after a shaver mixup resulted in his face getting ravaged by flesh-eating bacteria.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
