Oh boy!<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/elon-musk-takes-stand-in-court-to-defend-purchase-of-solarcity-11626098958?mod=mktw&amp;mod=article_inline&amp;adobe_mc=MCMID%3D06668287406597318261768904584117181518%7CMCORGID%3DCB68E4BA55144CAA0A4C98A5%2540AdobeOrg%7CTS%3D1626178619\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a> reports the following words:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span>I rather hate it and I would much prefer to spend my time on design and engineering.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Well, I don\u2019t know about you, but I feel devastated by the emotional turmoil he has been going through\u2026<\/p>\n<p>But wait, there\u2019s more! According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/musk-testify-defense-teslas-26-bln-deal-solarcity-2021-07-12\/\">Reuters<\/a>, he also said that he has tried \u201cvery hard not to be the CEO of Tesla, but I have to or frankly Tesla is going to die.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hmm, that\u2019s quite a low blow to the rest of Tesla\u2019s team.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_do_those_bitter_remarks_come_from\"><\/span>Where do those bitter remarks come from?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>These heated statements came as Musk took the stand on Monday, during the first day of a two week-trial i<span>n the Court of Chancery in Wilmington, Delaware.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Tesla\u2019s (unwilling) CEO is being accused of having forced the company\u2019s board members into<span>\u00a0a $2.6 billion all-stock deal to buy the solar panel firm SolarCity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The lawsuit by union pension funds and asset managers alleges that Musk depleted Tesla\u2018s assets in order to save SolarCity from bankruptcy, without having informed the shareholders of the company\u2019s dire financial situation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>At the time of the deal in 2016, Musk owned\u00a0<span>roughly a 22% stake in both Tesla and SolarCity,\u00a0which was founded by his cousins, Lyndon and Peter Rive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to the allegations, the CEO pushed for the transaction in order to bail-out his own investment in the solar panel firm.<\/p>\n<p>If the accusations are found to be true, Tesla\u2019s stakeholders demand that Musk returns the value of the deal back to the company.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Musk_on_the_stand\"><\/span>Musk on the stand<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Well, this seems like a pickle of a situation for our dear Elon, who didn\u2019t lose his cool during his six hours on the stand. After all, being a celebrity chief executive requires maintaining a controlled confident attitude, right?<\/p>\n<p>Reuters reports that\u00a0<span>Musk responded calmly during cross-examination from shareholder attorney Randall Baron, and naturally denied all allegations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He told the court that the he wasn\u2019t part of the board committee that handled the deal. \u201cI don\u2019t even know what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened,\u201d he testified.<\/p>\n<p>He also refuted the accusation that he\u2019d coerced the board members, stating that didn\u2019t settle pay for the directors, nor had he the ability to hire or fire them.<\/p>\n<p>And regarding using the deal for personal benefit, Musk testified that \u201cthere was no financial gain,\u201d as he owned the same percentage in both companies and there wasn\u2019t any cash involved in the deal.<\/p>\n<p><span>He said the sole purpose was to combine\u00a0Tesla\u2019s battery business with the sustainable energy of SolarCity.
