“#’Loki’ Returning \u2014 Which Other Disney+ Marvel Series<\/a> Do You Most Want to Continue? (POLL)<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

There was good news<\/a> and bad news for Loki<\/em><\/a> fans on July 14. First, the bad news: The season finale dropped. The good news: It revealed that\u2019s not the end of Tom Hiddleston\u2019s<\/a> series.<\/p>\n

\u201cLoki<\/em> will return in Season 2,\u201d according to a stamp on the God of Mischief\u2019s file in the mid-credits scene. This marks the first Marvel series on Disney+ to be renewed, though it is the third (after WandaVision<\/em><\/a> and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier<\/em><\/a>) to be released.<\/p>\n

That pickup was certainly great news considering how the Loki<\/em> Season 1 finale ended, with Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) killing He Who Remains\/a version of Kang the Conqueror(?) (Jonathan Majors<\/a>), changes to the TVA, (way) too many branches on the Sacred Timeline, and Mobius (Owen Wilson) not recognizing Loki.<\/p>\n

We know that WandaVision<\/em> won\u2019t be getting a second season, with Elizabeth Olsen<\/a> (Wanda Maximoff) saying \u201cit\u2019s definitely a limited series\u201d in a conversation with Kaley Cuoco<\/a> (The Flight Attendant<\/em><\/a>) for Variety<\/em><\/a> in June. (Olsen, Paul Bettany<\/a>, Kathryn Hahn<\/a>, and the show\u2019s Emmy<\/a> nominations came in the Limited Series categories.)<\/p>\n

\u201cYes to an evolution of storyline, probably and inevitably in many different capacities,\u201d Marvel Studios president and chief creative officer Kevin Feige said (via Deadline<\/em><\/a>). That includes Olsen app<\/a>earing in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness<\/em> film.<\/p>\n

As for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier<\/em>, the title card underwent a change at the end of its finale, becoming Captain America and the Winter Soldier<\/em> after Anthony Mackie\u2019s<\/a> Sam Wilson picked up the shield. There are rumors of a Captain America 4<\/em><\/a> movie, suggesting that the rest of his story is continuing on the big screen. It\u2019s not yet known if Sebastian Stan\u2019s<\/a> Bucky Barnes would be part of that (though you will hear him in the animated What If\u2026?<\/em> premiering on August 11). With The Falcon and the Winter Soldier<\/em> considered a Drama Series for the Emmys \u2014 Don Cheadle<\/a> was nominated for Guest Actor \u2014 it doesn\u2019t sound like a Season 2 has been completely ruled out.<\/p>\n

But this doesn\u2019t rule out the possibility of any of these characters\u2019 stories continuing on Disney+ in another series. They and the MCU movies are all connected \u2014 just look at the post-credits scene of Black Widow<\/em> teeing up the Disney+ series Hawkeye<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
