First, he had incredible success with the first two\u00a0<em><strong>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/strong><\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a> for Marvel. Then, in the summer of 2018, controversial old tweets of Gunn\u2019s surfaced, and he was fired by the company as a result. He publicly apologized and the cast of\u00a0<em>Guardians<\/em> rallied around him. While the differences weren\u2019t massive, he did note that there\u2019s more oversight at Marvel, where President\u00a0<strong>Kevin Feige<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is directly involved with each project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no doubt Kevin Feige is way more involved with editing than people are at Warner Bros. He gives more notes. You don\u2019t have to take them and I don\u2019t always take them. Then again, I had more problems,\u201d Gunn explained. \u201d If you saw the first cut of <em>Guardians 1<\/em>, it had more problems, because that was my first time making something so gigantic and there\u2019s some learning to what works and what doesn\u2019t, carving away the excess stuff. The truth is, as Marvel goes on and Kevin Feige starts to amass ownership of half of all film in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>, he\u2019s more spread out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He noted that Marvel tries to keep the styles of their films at least somewhat similar, while DC has allowed for much more varied storytelling. This is the same studio that brought us\u00a0Todd Phillips\u2019 grimdark ode to the comedically disenfranchised\u00a0with\u00a0<em>Joker<\/em>,\u00a0then shortly after delivered a bubblegum pop-flavored feminist action-adventure in the form of\u00a0Cathy Yan\u2019s\u00a0<em>Birds of Prey<\/em><em>.\u00a0<\/em>There\u2019s a lot more room for variety at DC, which Gunn finds exciting.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe Marvel Universe has always been a little more cohesive, and DC has always had more great single runs. They had <em>The Dark Knight Returns<\/em>. They had <em>Watchmen<\/em>. They had <em>The Killing Joke<\/em>. They had Alan Moore\u2019s <em>Swamp Thing<\/em>. The fact that they did\u00a0<em>Joker,<\/em>\u00a0which is a totally different type of movie, that to me is cool. I\u2019m very excited about Matt [Reeves]\u2019s [<em>The Batman<\/em>] movie. They\u2019re getting some really good filmmakers involved. The thing is, he\u2019s wondering too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no clue what I\u2019m going to do,\u201d he told the New York Times. \u201cFor me,\u00a0<em>Guardians 3<\/em> is probably the last one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many fans discovered Gunn through his earlier work like the low-budget alien horror-comedy,\u00a0<em><strong>Slither<\/strong><\/em>,<em>\u00a0<\/em>or the heartbreakingly hilarious real-world superhero story,\u00a0<em><strong>Super<\/strong><\/em><em>.\u00a0<\/em>Would it be possible for Gunn to go back to his low-budget roots?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love toys and the explosions and the cameras, frankly. I love to be able to work on a big playing field.
