Though it may not seem it, they are quite different from one another, and the form that you decide on will dictate what specific kind of keyboard you can buy (a portable keyboard, an ergonomic keyboard, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the qualities of membrane and mechanical keyboards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Membrane<\/strong>: Most modern keyboards are membrane keyboards. They\u2019re slim and quiet, but they don\u2019t offer a lot of physical feedback. In other words, they feel more like the<span class=\"htgeditornotesel\"> buttons on your TV remote<\/span>\u00a0than the keys on a typewriter (but that\u2019s not a bad thing\u2014it\u2019s more a matter of personal preference).
