Jeff LaBar, longtime guitarist for the glam metal band Cinderella, died Wednesday at his Nashville home. He was 58.<\/p>\n

His son and Tantric guitarist Sebastian LaBar confirmed his dad\u2019s passing. \u201cMy father, my hero, my idol, passed away today,\u201d he posted in an emotional via Instagram tribute<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m currently at a loss for words.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cause of his death has not yet been announced, but his ex-wife Gaile LaBar-Bernhardt discovered him unconscious after not hearing from him in a few days, The Sun reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

LaBar joined Cinderella in 1985<\/a>, three years after its creation, when the band\u2019s original guitarist, Michael Schermick,\u00a0left. The Philadelphia-based metal group welcomed him on as they were signing to a record label.<\/p>\n

In 1986, the band released its debut album \u201cNight Songs,\u201d which jumped to the third slot on the Billboard 200. It wasn\u2019t until their next album, \u201cLong Cold Winter\u201d in 1988, that the band released its signature song: \u201cDon\u2019t Know What You Got (Till It\u2019s Gone).\u201d <\/p>\n
