After Colbert cryptically told Mindy he wanted to \u201capologize for earlier,\u201d <em>The Office<\/em> alum explained to the audience:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI was backstage getting changed, and I was just in a pair of pants and my bra.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Stephen then continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnd I don\u2019t usually do this \u2014 I usually wait till the guests are in the wings \u2014 but I thought I would just go, \u2018Hey, have a great show!\u2019 So I popped the door open. I <i>knocked<\/i>, but I did that knock-and-pop.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"highlight\">Oop!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Mindy Accused Of Causing Huge Car Crash While On Cell Phone In New Lawsuit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Luckily, Stephen didn\u2019t see anything because Mindy\u2019s team \u201churled themselves in front of you like I was an assassin,\u201d the host said, adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t see anything if I had wanted to.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>For her part, <em>The Mindy Project<\/em> star acknowledged she should have locked the door, and joked that there was something else she could have done to make the experience better:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnd I just thought the whole time like, \u2018I wish I had worn a sexier bra.\u2019 Because I was like, \u2018He works hard.\u2019 \u2026 I have a 10-month-old. It was like a gray bra, just sad.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ha!
