Fans were excited about the prospect, and we now know that Marvel Studios has a new <em>Fantastic Four<\/em> movie in the pipeline. However, the season finale of <em><strong>Loki<\/strong> (<\/em>now streaming on <strong>Disney+<\/strong>)\u00a0featured a character who made\u00a0their first-ever <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance in a\u00a0<em>Fantastic Four<\/em> comic.<\/p>\n<p>Not counting the mutant speedster Quicksilver \u2014 who appeared in both Fox\u2019s <em>X-Men<\/em>\u00a0films and Marvel\u2019s <em>Avengers<\/em>-related <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a> and TV shows \u2014 this is the first official in-canon MCU character to be owned exclusively by Fox before its acquisition by Disney. To talk about who the character is, we\u2019ll need to delve into <strong>spoilers<\/strong> for the latest episode of <em>Loki<\/em>, so proceed at your own risk.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Last_Reminder_Spoilers_Incoming\"><\/span>Last Reminder: Spoilers Incoming<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->Still here?<\/p>\n<p>Good.<\/p>\n<p>Then you know that major baddie\u00a0<strong>Kang the Conqueror<\/strong>, played by <strong>Jonathan Majors<\/strong>, is now a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character made his debut in the season finale of <em>Loki<\/em>, episode 6, \u201cFor All Time. Always.\u201d He\u2019s had several different aliases and identities in the comics and we explored some of those\u00a0in our breakdown of his bombshell appearance\u00a0on <em>Loki<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>One small correction on that article: as noted by one of our eagle-eyed commenters, Nathaniel Richards was the <em>father<\/em>, not the grandfather, of Reed Richards, AKA Mr. Fantastic, the leader of the Fantastic Four. It\u2019s Franklin Richards, Reed\u2019s super-powered son, we were thinking of there as Nathaniel\u2019s grandson.<\/p>\n<p>Confused? Well, that\u2019s comics history for you: even Marvel needs\u00a0in-house\u00a0continuity experts to keep track of\u00a0all their characters with convoluted backstories and\u00a0branching\u00a0family trees. Yet he made his first appearance as \u201cKing Rama-Tut\u201d way back in 1963\u00a0in <em>Fantastic Four<\/em> #19. It wasn\u2019t until a year later that he adopted the Kang name and started tangoing with the Avengers.\u00a0Back in 2015, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.techtimes.com\/articles\/56714\/20150530\/guardians-of-the-galaxy-2-kang-the-conqueror-is-off-limits-and-owned-by-fox.htm\">Tech Times<\/a> noted that he was off-limits to Marvel Studios because, as a movie character, he was owned by Fox.<\/p>\n<p>Fox didn\u2019t just hold the movie rights to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. It also held the rights to all their ancillary characters, such as Deadpool, who is not technically an X-Man but does inhabit his own meta corner of the X-universe. The Merc with a Mouth recently made an informal debut of sorts in the MCU when he appeared with Korg, Taika Waititi\u2019s rocky <em>Thor: Ragnarok<\/em> alien,\u00a0in a promotional ad for the new Ryan Reynolds film, <em>Free Guy<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>In comics, there\u2019s a precedent for retroactive continuity, or \u201cretcons,\u201d whereby present tales seek to reframe past ones in a different light. With <em>Loki<\/em>\u2018s finale, Deadpool is now joined by Kang, as Marvel Studios goes about absorbing and retconning movies made by other studios like Fox and Sony\u00a0into a shared multiverse.
