But let\u2019s brake it down.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We have three categories of vehicles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>The stinky ICEs, i.e. fossil fuel fiends<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The Base case BEVs, with lower CO2 emissions generated by their battery minerals (35kg per kilowatt hour)<\/li>\n<li>The High GHG minerals case BEVs, with higher\u00a0CO2 emissions generated by their battery minerals (70kg per kilowatt hour)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the vertical axis we see the tons of CO2 emissions (<span>\u00a0tCO\u2082e<\/span><span>) per vehicle lifetime, and the different colors represent different vehicle life-cycles.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Looking at this graph, one thing becomes instantly clear: ICEs have\u00a0<\/span><i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">way higher<\/i><span>\u00a0greenhouse emissions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>During their manufacturing they emit 6\u00a0<span>tCO\u2082e, and during their fuel cycle (from the production of fossil fuels to their use by the engine) they generate 35.9\u00a0tCO\u2082e. That makes a disturbing total of <strong>49.9<\/strong><strong>tCO\u2082e<\/strong>\u00a0per vehicle life-cycle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Now the total for Base case BEVs reaches<\/span><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><span>\u00a0<\/span>19.7\u00a0tCO\u2082e<\/b><span>, which is less than half of ICE lifetime emission. Similarly, High GHG minerals case BEVs emit\u00a0<\/span><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\">21.1\u00a0tCO\u2082e<\/b><span>, which is<\/span><i data-stringify-type=\"italic\"><span>\u00a0<\/span>also less than half<\/i><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Sure, BEVs might emit more during the manufacturing process than ICEs \u2014 8 and 9.4 tCO\u2082e versus 6 tCO\u2082e \u2014 but the emissions they save by not burning fossil fuels completely negates that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Gas-guzzlers pump out\u00a035.9\u00a0tCO\u2082e using fossil fuels, while electricity\u00a0consumption only has\u00a0<\/span><i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">one third<\/i><span>\u00a0of those emissions, at 11.7\u00a0tCO\u2082e.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So, there you have it.<\/p>\n<p>No matter how we <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach this comparison, EVs are the clear winners. <em>Yes<\/em>, okay, they have higher emissions during their production cycle, but <span>how could this ever hide<\/span>\u00a0the fact that they emit HALF the CO2 amount of ICEs?<\/p>\n<p>I rest my case.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><i><span>Do EVs excite your electrons?
