Each installment will reportedly now run around 90 minutes and get budgets north of $20 million.<\/p>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post --><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/john-wick-prequel-event-series-lands-albert-hughes-lead-director-1234983180\/\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> broke the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> about Hughes\u2019 involvement, as well as the rejiggered format for the show. Hughes, who also directed films like <em>Dead Presidents<\/em> and <em>From Hell<\/em> alongside his brother Allen, went solo several years ago, and has directed the Kodi Smit-McPhee movie\u00a0<em>Alpha<\/em> and an episode of Showtime\u2019s <em>The Good Lord Bird<\/em>. He\u2019s a down-the-middle, reliable presence whose personality manages to come through in his work, so he strikes me as a good fit for the stylish world of 1970s New York City, when this project is set.<\/p>\n<p>Hughes will direct the first and third episodes of <em>The Continental<\/em> for Lionsgate and Starz, but a director for the second episode has yet to be pinpointed. <em>John Wick<\/em> franchise director\u00a0<strong>Chad Stahelski<\/strong> was originally going to direct the pilot back when this was going to be a more traditional prequel show, and there\u2019s still the possibility that he takes the helm for the second installment in addition to performing his executive producer duties.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how THR describes the show:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A prequel spinoff,\u00a0<em>Continental<\/em>\u00a0is set 40 years before the events of the Wick series and focuses on a young man named Winston. One of the biggest problem with streamers is their unending quest to produce a constant spout of content often results in films and shows getting lost in the deluge.
