{"id":301464,"date":"2021-07-16T19:54:37","date_gmt":"2021-07-16T16:54:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/immune-and-clotting-components-in-blood-could-contribute-to-psychosis\/"},"modified":"2021-07-16T19:54:37","modified_gmt":"2021-07-16T16:54:37","slug":"immune-and-clotting-components-in-blood-could-contribute-to-psychosis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/immune-and-clotting-components-in-blood-could-contribute-to-psychosis\/","title":{"rendered":"#Immune and clotting components in blood could contribute to psychosis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Immune and clotting components in blood could contribute to psychosis<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"article-gallery lightGallery\">\n<div data-thumb=\"https:\/\/scx1.b-cdn.net\/csz\/news\/tmb\/2020\/blood.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/scx2.b-cdn.net\/gfx\/news\/hires\/2020\/blood.jpg\" data-sub-html=\"Credit: CC0 Public Domain\">\n<figure class=\"article-img\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/scx1.b-cdn.net\/csz\/news\/800a\/2020\/blood.jpg\" alt=\"blood\" title=\"Credit: CC0 Public Domain\" width=\"800\" height=\"480\"\/><figcaption class=\"text-darken text-low-up text-truncate-js text-truncate mt-3\">\n                Credit: CC0 Public Domain<br \/>\n            <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A scientific review has found evidence that a disruption in blood clotting and the first line immune system could be contributing factors in the development of psychosis.\n                                                <\/p>\n<p>                                                                                The article, a joint collaborative effort by researchers at RCSI University of Medicine and Health <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Science<\/a>s, Cardiff University and the UCD Conway Institute, is published in <i>Molecular Psychiatry<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Recent studies have identified blood proteins involved in the innate immune system and blood clotting networks as key players implicated in psychosis.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers analyzed these studies and developed a new theory that proposes the imbalance of both of these systems leads to inflammation, which in turn contributes to the development of psychosis.<\/p>\n<p>The work proposes that alterations in immune defense mechanisms\u2014including blood clotting\u2014lead to an increased risk of inflammation, which is thought to contribute to the development of psychosis.<\/p>\n<p>The new theory further refines the prevailing &#8216;two-hit&#8217; hypothesis, where early genetic and\/or environmental factors disrupt the developing central nervous system (the &#8220;first-hit&#8221;) and increases the vulnerability of the individual to subsequent, late environmental disruptions (the &#8220;second-hit&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Early identification and treatment significantly improves clinical outcomes of psychotic disorders.
