It\u2019s been a tough few months,\u201d lamented John Henninger, co-owner of Dan &amp; John\u2019s Wings in Murray Hill and the East Village, when asked about rising prices.<\/p>\n<p>The wholesale price restaurants pay for chicken has more than doubled since the fall, according to invoices provided to The Post. The increase far outpaces the rapid inflation already being felt elsewhere in the economy,<\/p>\n<p>Ken Halberg, the owner of Harding\u2019s in the Flatiron District, paid $1.16 for a pound of chicken breast at the end of October. The increase far outpaces the rapid inflation already being felt elsewhere in the economy.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Helayne Seidman<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cDemand is very high right now, and consumer spending is surging\u201d as the country emerges from the pandemic, Popeyes America president Sami Siddiqui told Bloomberg. \u201cWe\u2019re planning <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chik-Fil-A offered a similar \u201cno problem\u201d this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can tell you that we have not been impacted (by rising prices) and that our supply is strong,\u201d Chik-Fil-A spokesman Sean Ward told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>Industry experts say rising meat prices are being caused by a shortage of people willing to work in processing plants in the free-money, post-pandemic world, as demand spikes as millions of Americans return to restaurants.
