“#How to Change the Keyboard on an Amazon Fire Tablet”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even if they don\u2019t feel like it, Amazon Fire tablets are Android tablets. That means you can do most of the typical Android things, such as changing the keyboard. We\u2019ll show you how it works on a Fire tablet.<\/p>\n

The first thing you\u2019ll need is a third-party keyboard<\/a> from the Amazon App<\/a>store\u2014or from the Google Play Store, if you\u2019ve followed our guide for installing it. We will be using Google\u2019s Gboard keyboard<\/a> for this guide.<\/p>\n

Once you have the third-party keyboard installed, you can open up the \u201cSettings\u201d app, either from the home screen or by swiping down twice from the top of the screen and tapping the gear icon.<\/p>\n

Next, go to \u201cDevice Options.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, select \u201cKeyboard & Language.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Now<\/p>\n

The first thing that we have to do is toggle on the newly installed keyboard so that it shows up in the list of keyboards to use. Tap \u201cShow\/Hide Keyboards\u201d and enable the one that you installed.<\/p>\n

\"Tap<\/p>\n

Now that the keyboard is enabled, we can switch to it. Select \u201cCurrent Keyboard.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Select<\/p>\n

Select the newly installed keyboard from the menu. You can also tap \u201cKeyboard Settings\u201d to go straight to the settings for that keyboard app.<\/p>\n

From now on, when you\u2019re typing something, you\u2019ll notice a little keyboard icon in the navigation bar. You can tap that to switch keyboards on the fly.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s it! You\u2019ve successfully switched keyboards! You\u2019re no longer locked to Amazon\u2019s stock keyboard. Go forth and find something better!<\/p>\n

If you chose to use Gboard, don\u2019t forget that it\u2019s possible to type with your voice.<\/p>\n
