According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tesla.com\/support\/full-self-driving-subscriptions#pricing\" class=\"icon none\">Tesla\u2019s support page<\/a>, there are two options, depending on the vehicle\u2019s current Autopilot capability: Basic Autopilot to FSD for $199 a month, or Enhanced Autopilot to FSD for $99 a month. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Tesla<br \/>\n        TSLA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/203558040\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.98%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       notes that FSD is not the same as fully driverless <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, and that \u201cthe currently enabled features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the subscription plan requires version 3.0 of the FSD hardware, and upgrading to that will cost $1,500. That hardware \u2014 containing a new, more powerful chip \u2014 has been standard in Teslas since mid-2019.<\/p>\n<p>However, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2021\/07\/18\/tesla-is-charging-owners-1500-for-hardware-they-already-paid-for\/\" class=\"icon none\">Electrek reported Saturday<\/a> that Tesla owners who bought their vehicles between late 2016 and mid-2019 were told at the time they had FSD hardware built in and would not need an additional hardware update.<\/p>\n<p>A number of Tesla owners on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jeremyjudkins\/status\/1416803449644138496\" class=\"icon none\">Twitter<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/teslamotors\/comments\/om7b31\/tesla_demanding_another_1500_dollars_for_a_fsd\/\" class=\"icon none\">Reddit<\/a> expressed irritation or outright anger over that possibility, with some saying Tesla should pay for the upgrade cost while others called for a class-action lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla\u2019s support page says hardware upgrades are not included with the FSD subscription.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla, which dissolved its <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> relations team last year, did not immediately respond to a request for details about the FSD 3.0 upgrade cost.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla shares dipped 2% last week, and are down nearly 9% year to date.
