“#Speeding driver flung from car, killed in East Harlem crash<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

A speeding driver was killed Monday when he crashed his car in East Harlem \u2014 causing it to flip over and fling him from the moonroof, according to cops.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Joseph Edlawn, 34, was heading north \u201cat an app<\/a>arent high rate of speed\u201d on the Harlem River Drive around 1:40 a.m. when he attempted to take the East 125th Street exit, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As Edlawn continued whizzing down the exit ramp, his car slammed into the curb, causing it to overturn, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The vehicle rolled over several times, crossing into the northbound Second Avenue ramp to the parkway, before finally landing on its roof, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Edlawn, who did not have his seatbelt fastened, was ejected from the moonroof as the car flipped, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Responding officers found him with trauma all over his body, and EMS rushed him to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His 28-year-old passenger \u2014 whose seat belt was fastened \u2014 escaped nearly unscathed, only suffering some minor scrapes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The NYPD\u2019s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is probing the crash.\u00a0<\/p>\n
