Source: TradingView<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"BTC_price_stays_below_30000_waterline\"><\/span>BTC price stays below $30,000 waterline<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/BTCUSD\/\">TradingView<\/a>\u00a0showed BTC\/USD continue trading in the $20,000-$30,000 zone on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The largest cryptocurrency saw a turbulent night&#8217;s price action, abruptly adding to existing losses to seal 24-hour negative returns of -6%.<\/p>\n<p>The move came in tandem with a souring sentiment on traditional markets. The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/data\/fear-and-greed\/\">Fear &amp; Greed Index<\/a>, which uses a basket of factors to determine the mood among market participants, fell into the &#8220;extreme fear&#8221; zone on Tuesday, measuring 17\/100.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the cryptocurrency equivalent, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/alternative.me\/crypto\/fear-and-greed-index\/\">Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index<\/a>, raced to catch up, dropping to 19\/100 \u2014 also denoted as &#8220;extreme fear.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Crypto Fear &amp; Greed saw local lows of just 10\/100 last month, while the traditional counterpart&#8217;s score has halved in a week.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-07\/a7c321d3-b224-44f0-b973-bdaab7143b1c.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index as of July 20. In the event, BTC\/USD fell almost exactly to his target zone.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;BTC has lost Weekly support (black) and convincingly lost the blue 50-week EMA,&#8221; he <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rektcapital\/status\/1417150990961106950\">summarized<\/a> on Twitter alongside the relevant chart. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;BTC has failed to preserve the bullish momentum that originated in the green box.
