July silver<br \/>\n        SIU21,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/214906503\/delayed\" class=\"negative\">-1.03%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was down 25 cents, or 1%, at $24.90 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>Gold edged lower Tuesday despite a flight to safety that accelerated a fall in  U.S. Treasury yields, sending the 10-year note<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">1.205%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       to its lowest since mid-February. The 10-year yield declined further on Tuesday after a round of mixed data on U.S.  housing.<\/p>\n<p>The technical configuration for gold \u201cisn\u2019t reassuring to investors as the market recently broke out of its short-term bullish trend line following a 50% bullish retracement of the last bearish impulsion from the $1,900 zone,\u201d said Pierre Veyre, technical analyst at ActivTrades, in a note. <\/p>\n<p>He said the short-term outlook for gold remains bearish as long as the price doesn\u2019t top $1,820 an ounce, with $1,794 and $1,782 the next support zones.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>Other metals traded on Comex were mixed, with September copper<br \/>\n        HGU21,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210058817\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+1.38%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       added 1.4% to $4.26 a pound, following a 2.8% fall Monday.<\/p>\n<p>October platinum<br \/>\n        PLV21,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/219800830\/delayed\" class=\"negative\">-1.34%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       shed 0.9% to $1,061.80 an ounce, while September palladium added 0.6% to $2,609 an ounce.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"byline article__byline\">\n<p>      <span>By<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"author  hasMenu\" data-scrim='{\"type\":\"author\",\"header\":\"Myra P.
