When she breaks that promise, a terrible truth about her unknown past puts her life in danger.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>REVIEW:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Writer\/Director: Sebastian Gutierrez<\/p>\n<p>Starring: Abbey Lee, Ciar\u00e1n Hinds, Carla Gugino, Matthew Beard, Dylan Baker<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Elizabeth Harvest <\/em><\/strong>(2018) is one of the recent indie-efforts to get a stateside limited-run theatrical release through <em>IFC Films<\/em>, and the newest project to be released from writer\/director Sebastian Gutierrez (<em>Women in Trouble<\/em> 2009, writer of <em>Snakes on a Plane<\/em>). In a design-temple of a house, Elizabeth is given free reign over everything except a locked room, which\u2014of course\u2014she enters. Once inside, Elizabeth\u2019s promise of wedded-bliss is shattered by the psychotic Henry and the machinations of fellow house-mates and servants Claire and the blind Oliver (played by femme-fatale beauty Carla Gugino, <em>Watchmen <\/em>2009, <em>The Haunting of Hill House<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> 2018; and Matthew Beard, <em>The Imitation <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a><\/em>, respectively). Hinds excels through his voice and glassy stares into space, with Gugino, Beard, and Baker all serving their characters with as much personality as can be wrung from their rather shallow backstories. While not clear from the onset, <em>Elizabeth Harvest <\/em>is a cloning-gone-awry tale, with &lt;spoiler&gt; Lee\u2019s character being test-tube bred and killed over and over again by her formerly loving husband, whose excuse for slipping into madness is basically \u201cbecause I don\u2019t know why.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-139541\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-2.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-2-310x165.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-2-100x53.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-139543\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-4.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-4-310x174.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-4-100x56.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s some blood, though it\u2019s not excessive, and the plot\u2019s broad strokes are revealed shortly into the 1-hour 45-minute film. There are details revealed later, though none are surprising or startling. For those looking forward to the standard indie highbrow-nudity, Lee has multiple nude scenes, whereas Gugino must have a better agent, and gets away with showing her backside a few times. The biggest mystery of the film isn\u2019t, as it turns out, anything involving unethical cloning, but rather how a man in his mid-to-late sixties draws in sexually active women decades his juniors.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-139544\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"734\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-5.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-5-310x414.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-5-75x100.jpg 75w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The camera work is quite well-done, though there are several shots paired up in editing that had me scratching my head, especially a repeated stairwell static-shot that is impossible to place in the mental layout of the house. Similarly, the plot has holes that are self-inflicted wounds, such as: If she\u2019s repeatedly cloned, why don\u2019t they start her new lives inside the house, instead of on the drive <em>to <\/em>the house? Do they dope her up and drive around a while until she seems like she\u2019s coming to, and then swerve in the direction of the driveway? And what\u2019s with her bad dye job? Do they dye her inert bodies\u2019 hair somehow while she\u2019s in the liquid-filled \u201cclone baths?\u201d Lastly, if all the doors are locked by code or fingerprint, how does she leave the house in the final scenes?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-139545\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"403\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-6.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-6-310x227.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-6-100x73.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-139546\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-7.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-7-310x180.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Elizabeth-Harvest-movie-2018-Sebastian-Gutierrez-7-100x58.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>These problems, the poor pacing, and several conversations between characters that are meant to sound smarter than they are, all make watching <em>Elizabeth Harvest <\/em>a dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointing experience.
