It\u2019s the new age of sexy.<\/p>\n

And 57-year-old Sports Illustrated bikini model Kathy Jacobs is the silver-haired mother of the movement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOld is the new hot,\u201d a smiling Jacobs told The Post.<\/p>\n

The 5-foot-2 married mom of one is featured in SI\u2019s 2021 Swimsuit edition, and is the oldest woman to ever be spotlighted in the issue\u2019s 57-year history. (Sports Illustrated\u2019s first Swim volume hit shelves in 1964 \u2014 the same year Jacobs was born).<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m closer to 60 than I am to 50 at this point,\u201d said the small town Texas girl-turned-Calabasas, California resident. \u201cSo to be in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine representing ladies my age is just the best feeling in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacobs was one of the 13 rookie models discovered through Sports Illustrated\u2019s annual Swim Search casting call. <\/p>\n

The social media<\/a> campaign invites women over 18 to submit themselves for SI Swim consideration by uploading a 60-second video to Instagram explaining why they should slay in the sultry\u00a0spread.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOld is gold,\u201d said Jacobs in the submission clip she posted last August. \u201cAnd short is sexy,\u201d she continued before adding, \u201cHeck, I\u2019m so out, I\u2019m in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her enduring Southern charm and timeless beauty won judges over. <\/p>\n

And before her petite frame graced the pages of SI Swim Monday, Jacobs was tapp<\/a>ed to rip the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway during Miami Swim Week on July 10.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first went out [on the runway] the main thing on my mind was to show gratitude,\u201d Jacobs said, noting how thankful she was to serve as a delegate for woman in her age demographic.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI was talking to the ladies [in the audience] saying, \u2018I represent you\u2019 as I walked,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And the fact that almost every other model sharing the stage was around the same age as her 24-year-old daughter, Abigail, didn\u2019t bother her a bit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like \u2018screw it,\u2019\u201d Jacobs said. \u201cI\u2019m going to be my biggest, baddest and boldest self.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m taking full advantage of this moment,\u201d she continued. \u201cBecause It\u2019s taken me so long to get here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her journey to bikini model nirvana has been no day at the beach.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been trying to break into the modeling industry for about 37 years now,\u201d said Jacobs. \u201cI moved to New York when I was 19 and worked with Ford models.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the \u201880s she managed to score a few print gigs, including the 1989 cover of Woman\u2019s World Magazine. But Jacobs\u2019 career as a high-fashion fixture never materialized.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI tried and tried and tried,\u201d she said. \u201cBut I didn\u2019t not get included. I was not invited to the party. And I had to take a lot of minimum wage jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

After she moved to California with her husband of 26 years, Rob \u2014 a Grammy award-winning music engineer \u2014 Jacobs did everything from working at a souvenir kiosk on Hollywood Boulevard to sweeping the floors at a local hair salon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But she never abandoned her modeling ambitions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI grew up with a brother who couldn\u2019t walk,\u201d Jacobs said. \u201cAnd knowing that his greatest dream was just to be able to walk is what\u00a0\u00a0inspired me to keep walking [toward my dream].\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacobs wouldn\u2019t let her own recent health scare stop her stride either.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI found out that I have some pre-disposition diabetes and high cholesterol,\u201d she said. \u201cSo I had to make a lifestyle change.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over the last few years she\u2019s cut out sugar, bread, starch and meat \u2014 except for fish.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The bathing suit model now maintains a strict diet of seafood, vegetables and fruit. And she burns up the calories through cross-fit workouts \u2014 which include several intense rounds of cardio and body weight training circuits \u2014 four to five times a week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But her eating plan and exercise regimen are more about being the most optimal version of herself, and less about trying to maintain a youthful look.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not competing with 20-year-olds, 30, 40 or even 50-year-olds,\u201d Jacobs said. \u201cI\u2019m just trying to be the best that I can be.\u201d<\/p>\n

And while she\u2019s honored to showcase her best self in Sports Illustrated, Jacobs says more fashion and beauty giants need to highlight non-traditional models too.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t just give us lip-service [claiming] that you\u2019re inclusive,\u201d she said defiantly. \u201cBe inclusive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacobs is now creating her own skin-care line curated for women over 50.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cPut ladies over 50, 60 and 70 in your ads and on the runway,\u201d she said \u201cWe should be honored by major brands because we\u2019re the demographic with the most disposable income.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShow these ladies some love.\u201d<\/p>\n
