Ryan Reynolds<\/strong> is opening up about what it was like dating Blake Lively<\/strong> \u2014 before they fell madly in love and became the funniest couple on the internet, that is. It sounds like he REALLY had to put in the work to convince the Gossip Girl<\/em> alum to take a chance on him! In Monday\u2019s episode of the Smartless<\/em> podcast, the Deadpool<\/em> star admitted:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were friends and buddies, and about a year and a half later, we actually went out on a double date. But we were dating separate people.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The 44-year-old continued to dish about his early romance with the actress, proving just how much \u201cbegging\u201d he had to do, adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hung out and we always kind of kept in touch sort of casually and, next thing you know, she was going to Boston. I was going to Boston and I said, \u2018I\u2019ll ride with you.\u2019 \u2026 I was just begging her to sleep with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Of course, as we all know, all his wooing worked because once the Green Lantern<\/em> alums got together, it was happ<\/a>ily ever after. In fact, the dad of three even described their love life as straight \u201cout of a fairy tale\u201d! Awww!<\/p>\n

To keep everyone happy, the creatives made a unique deal, he explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cBlake and I don\u2019t do movies<\/a> at the same time. When Blake is ready to do some stuff, I\u2019ll step down and then we go back and forth. She\u2019ll do a film and I\u2019ll be with her on location hanging out with the kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
