This time, they come bearing very exciting <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> \u2014 <em><strong>The Mitchells vs The Machines<\/strong><\/em> is winning families over, one household at a time.<\/p>\n<p>The Sony animated sci-fi comedy was watched by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2021\/07\/the-mitchells-vs-the-machines-becomes-netflix-biggest-animated-film-1234796852\/\">53M member households in its first 28 days<\/a>, making it the most-watched animated film on the service.<span id=\"more-685847\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Close behind is another gem from the past year, the Academy Award-winning <em><strong>Over The Moon<\/strong><\/em> which 43M households tuned in to stream. Third place goes to last years <em><strong>The Willoughbys<\/strong><\/em>, which grabbed 38M households in its first month. All three are heartfelt family stories and it\u2019s no surprise to see them garnering such large audiences.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->Even with its staggering numbers, <em>The Mitchells vs the Machines<\/em> wasn\u2019t the streamer\u2019s biggest movie this quarter. That honor goes to Zack Snyder\u2019s <em>Army of the Dead<\/em>, with a massive viewership of 75M member households.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-664810 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/mitchellsvsthemachines-energyblast-diner-700x300.jpg\" alt=\"The Mitchells vs The Machines Trailer\" width=\"700\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/mitchellsvsthemachines-energyblast-diner.jpg 700w, https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/mitchellsvsthemachines-energyblast-diner-360x154.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Mitchells_For_The_Win\"><\/span>The Mitchells For The Win!<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>But let\u2019s not undersell the accomplishments of this dazzling animated feature. <em>Mitchells<\/em> had an incredible team behind the scenes, including the animation-producing duo <strong>Phil Lord<\/strong> and <strong>Chris Miller<\/strong>. <strong>Mike Rianda<\/strong> made his directorial debut with the film but previously proved his chops on the widely beloved <em>Gravity Falls<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Mitchells vs the Machines<\/em> tells the story of a quirky, mildly dysfunctional family overcoming a full-on technological takeover. It\u2019s both a robot uprising movie and a road <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> movie, which doesn\u2019t sound like it should go together but actually works perfectly. It marries explosive robot action with down-to-earth family drama and does so to great success.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, the movie never got its theatrical release which was impeded, like many others, by the pandemic. But Netflix\u2019s acquisition means the film got plenty of well-deserved attention and is now widely available for families to stream again, and again, and again, as a film this fun is definitely worth the rewatch. Plus, its wild visual style is incredibly detailed, burying tons of references and easter eggs for obsessive viewers.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->The film features <strong>Abbi Johnson<\/strong> as Katie Mitchell, an aspiring filmmaker who struggles to connect with her nature-loving father, Rick (<strong>Danny McBride<\/strong>). He struggles to understand her interests and passions and, as Katie prepares to go off to college, they both wonder if their already strained relationship will survive the distance. Luckily, nothing unites a family quite like the end of the world.<\/p>\n<p>That said, even with society collapsing around them, Katie and Rick still have trouble mending their relationship. But <em>Mitchells<\/em> gives them the time and a ridiculous backdrop to do so, all with clever insights on humanity, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, generational gaps, and our relationship with the internet. Plus some commentary about corporate greed that is definitely not targeted at any particular multinational technological company\u2026<\/p>\n<p>We have no way of proving it, but Netflix\u2019s numbers (probably) don\u2019t lie.
