NFTs that you create can now be gas-free, allowing creators to fully earn their way into crypto for the first time<\/p>\n<p>Details \u21af <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EeQfyZTxUA\">https:\/\/t.co\/EeQfyZTxUA<\/a> 1\/2<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 OpenSea (@opensea) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/opensea\/status\/1417468800845455360?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 20, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>The fundraise included participation from hedge fund and private equity firm Coatue, along with backing from figures such as former Walt Disney president Michael Ovitz, actor Ashton Kutcher and NBA star Kevin Durant. <\/p>\n<p>In a July 20 blog post, alongside the $100M funding round OpenSea also officially <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/opensea\/status\/1417468800845455360\">announced<\/a> expanded-blockchain support, starting with a \u201cgas-free\u201d marketplace on Polygon, a layer 2 Ethereum scaling solution. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuyers no longer have to pay blockchain fees when making trades on OpenSea, and creators can fully earn their way into crypto for the first time,\u201d the firm revealed. <\/p>\n<p>According to TechCrunch, OpenSea also is <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2021\/07\/20\/nft-market-opensea-hits-1-5-billion-valuation\/\">planning<\/a> to expand support to D<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er Lab\u2019s Flow blockchain along with Tezos in the future. <\/p>\n<p>The latest funding round shows significant growth for one of the top NFT marketplaces in the industry and follows on from its $23 million Series A funding round in March, which was also led by Andreessen Horowitz. <\/p>\n<p>OpenSea specifically didn\u2019t confirm what the funds would go toward, but a Forbes report stated the funds will be <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/emilymason\/2021\/07\/20\/despite-slowing-nft-activity-opensea-becomes-next-crypto-unicorn-with-100-million-round\/?sh=1de07ab24d41\">used<\/a> to grow the team, building further cross-chain support, and improving user experience.
