“#Hollywood Live-Action Your Name Adaptation Loses Director<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Deadline has reported<\/span><\/a> today that the Hollywood live-action adaptation of Makoto Shinkai<\/strong>‘s Your Name.<\/strong><\/em> anime<\/a> film has lost its director\u00a0Lee Isaac Chung<\/strong> due to\u00a0scheduling conflicts.\u00a0According to sources,\u00a0Paramount and Bad Robot, who are producing the film, are quickly looking for a replacement, having already app<\/a>roached a few unnamed directors.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chung<\/strong> is the second director<\/span><\/a> to leave the project, with\u00a0The Amazing Spider-Man<\/strong><\/em> director\u00a0Marc Webb<\/strong> originally helming<\/span><\/a> the adaptation but left due to unknown reasons.\u00a0Chung was working off a script by\u00a0Emily V. Gordon<\/strong>\u00a0(The Big Sick<\/strong><\/em>) after several had been written, including one by\u00a0Eric Heisserer<\/strong>\u00a0(Arrival<\/strong><\/em>), who\u00a0reimagined the story with\u00a0a Native American girl living in a rural area and a boy from Chicago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

J.J. Abrams<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Lindsey Weber\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0Bad Robot Productions will be producing the North American adaptation at Paramount, with the original anime film producer\u00a0Genki Kawamura<\/strong>\u00a0producing at Toho, who are also distributing the live-action film in Japan.<\/p>\n

It hasn’t been announced when the live-action\u00a0Your Name<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0film will release, or when production will begin on the\u00a0movie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
