“#Kanye West confirms \u2018Donda\u2019 release date with Sha\u2019Carri Richardson<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Kanye West has confirmed fan suspicions about his long-delayed album \u2014 with a little help from elite athlete Sha\u2019Carri Richardson.<\/p>\n

After a week of frenzied Twitter<\/a> speculation swirling around the possibility of a Friday drop date for \u201cDonda,\u201d West\u2019s much-anticipated 10th full-length recording, the rapp<\/a>er has finally put the rumors to rest.<\/p>\n

West, 44, confirmed the July 23 release date by including a sample from the new album\u2019s track \u201cNo Child Left Behind,\u201d <\/a>in a Beats by Dre ad featuring stalled Olympian Richardson, 21.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

The commercial spot aired Tuesday during Game<\/a> 6 of the NBA Finals, and features a visual of Richardson as she runs a 100-meter sprint in slow motion, while listening to West\u2019s voice pump the lyric, \u201cHe\u2019s done miracles on me,\u201d through the Beats by Dre earbuds.<\/p>\n

The ad also formally announced West will be hosting a listening party in Atlanta <\/a>on Thursday, July 22. The event will be livestreamed via Apple music at 8 p.m. EST. This formal announcement follows the buzz and confirms fans\u2019 suspicions about a rumored secret listening party in Las Vegas on July 18.<\/p>\n

The spot also works to support\u00a0Richardson, who was suspended from Team USA on July 2 after testing positive for testing positive\u00a0for\u00a0THC, the chemical in\u00a0cannabis, during a routine drug test. After the public suspension, notable figures spoke out in solidarity in solidarity with the athlete.<\/p>\n

Confirmation about the upcoming album also came directly from West\u2019s social media, which typically remains inactive. <\/p>\n

West posted on his Instagram<\/a> a series<\/a> of close-up photos with his face covered to highlight the chains around his neck, each featuring the names of his children from his troubled marriage<\/a> with Kim Kardashian: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.<\/a><\/p>\n

The album\u2019s title, \u201cDonda,\u201d honors West\u2019s late mother, and originally was to be released in 2020. \u201cDonda\u201d will follow the 2019 Grammy-winning contemporary Christian album, \u201cJesus Is King.\u201c<\/p>\n

The new release will reportedly not<\/em> feature negative raps about his ex-wife: \u201cKanye actually played the song for Kim personally before the listening party,\u201d an insider close to the former couple told Page Six<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s emotional and personal. Not negative at all.\u201d<\/p>\n
