LOS ANGELES \u2014 Wilmer Flores hit a go-ahead, two-run homer off closer Kenley Jansen in the ninth inning and the San Francisco Giants rallied past the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2 on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Mike Yastrzemski homered early to help the Giants regain a two-game<\/a> lead in the NL West over the defending World Series<\/a> champions. San Francisco has won two of three in a four-game series between the longtime rivals that wraps up Thursday night.<\/p>\n

The Giants had just four hits before Flores\u2019 drive, which quieted the sellout crowd at Dodger Stadium. Buster Posey delivered a pinch-hit single to start the ninth, and Flores followed with a two-run shot to left field that put San Francisco in front 3-2.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilmer Flores is as clutch as anyone over the last two seasons,\u201d Giants manager Gabe Kapler said. \u201cThat was his MO in New York. He\u2019s always been clutch and thrived in the biggest moments.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was the 11th homer of the season for Flores. Jansen (1-3) fell to 21 for 25 in save opportunities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a bad one,\u201d Jansen said. \u201cI don\u2019t want to overthink it. I work my butt off too hard to let one moment like this try to mess your season up. Ain\u2019t no time to think about it. \u2026 I\u2019ve got to do better. Get those last three outs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Victor Gonzalez walked Curt Casali with the bases loaded, making it 4-2.<\/p>\n

Tyler Rogers, who took the loss Tuesday after allowing a game-ending homer to pinch-hitter Will Smith, earned his 11th save by pitching a scoreless ninth.<\/p>\n

Rogers and Kapler shared an enthusiastic hug afterward.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was huge to get right back out there and not have to try to forget about it another day,\u201d Rogers said. \u201cMan, it\u2019s just so cool to see all the guys in the clubhouse happ<\/a>y for me, and I\u2019m happy for all them. Kapler showing the trust in me was huge for my confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jose Alvarez (3-1) worked a scoreless inning for the win.<\/p>\n

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was ejected in the ninth.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles starter Julio Ur\u00edas pitched a gem, allowing just three hits in seven innings. He struck out five and walked one.<\/p>\n

Ur\u00edas gave up Yastrzemski\u2019s home run but otherwise silenced the Giants. He was trying to become the first 13-game winner in the majors.<\/p>\n

Yastrzemski hit his 16th home run in the first inning and second in two days.<\/p>\n

Chris Taylor responded with a solo homer of his own in the bottom of the first. Taylor is having a terrific July and has three home runs in his last two games. He\u2019s hit safely in 14 of the last 17 games.<\/p>\n

Cody Bellinger made a fantastic sliding catch in center field for the Dodgers to rob Austin Slater of a hit in the third.<\/p>\n

AJ Pollock hit an RBI double to the right-field corner off Logan Webb in the fourth to score Bellinger and give Los Angeles a 2-1 lead.<\/p>\n

Webb allowed two runs and three hits in five innings.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
