His target? The late Hip Hop legend Tupac Shakur who beefed with the <em>Illmatic<\/em>\u00a0mastermind prior to his September 1996 death.<\/p>\n<p>About midway through the verse, he spits, \u201cFrom tube-socks in Timbs to blue rocks and Benz\/Who got the ends, the type of n-gga 2Pac pretends\/To all n-ggas who shine, guess who got revenge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The track is preceded by a sample of Nas\u2019 opening bars from 1996\u2019s \u201cThe Message,\u201d the track that initially sparked their discourse.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Nas - Real Niggas (Unreleased Verse)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YCAGWWy5USY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>2Pac took shots at Nas on the <em>Makaveli<\/em> cut \u201cAgainst All Odds\u201d with lines such as, \u201cThis little n-gga named Nas think he live like me\/Talkin\u2019 \u2019bout he left the hospital, took five like me\/You live in fantasies, n-gga, I reject your deposit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He later accused Nas of adopting his entire persona with, \u201cHey Nas, your whole damn style is bitten\/You heard my melody, read about my life in the papers\/All my run-in with authorities, felonious capers\/Now you want to live my life, so what\u2019s a \u2018chazzer\u2019 Nas?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2Pac - Against All Odds\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jrdnHu5q11I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As previously mentioned, the tension between Nas and 2Pac erupted following the release of \u201c\u2018The Message\u201d from Nas\u2019 1996 album <em>It Was Written\u00a0<\/em>in which he raps,\u00a0\u201cI got stitched up, it went through, left the hospital that same night, what,\u201d a reference to the infamous 1994 Quad Studio shooting in which 2Pac was shot. Nas later clarified it wasn\u2019t intended to be a to diss and the two ultimately made amends.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/1AHfovSnGPVYKaahRtA0U6?theme=0\" width=\"100%\" height=\"80\" frameborder=\"0\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Nas addressed their beef\u00a0last August while doing promo for his Grammy Award-winning album<em> King\u2019s Disease.\u00a0<\/em>While speaking to Beats 1 host Ebro Darden, he talked about the moment they ran into each other backstage at the 1996 MTV Vide Music Awards. was asked about Snoop Dogg\u2019s version of the story.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m walking backstage and I see him and I\u2019m like, \u2018Yo, alright, do your thing\u2019 and he said, \u2018And you do yours\u2019 because he knew where I was coming from wasn\u2019t an all love place \u2019cause there was a rumor of Makaveli coming out,\u201d he explained. \u201cSo I was really wanting to check the temperature with him but it turned up, my brother and them, they seen \u2019em and the Outlawz \u2014 shout out to the Outlawz \u2014 and they had some words or whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cWe had a great convo, man. He explained he thought I was dissing him on the song \u2018The Message.\u2019 He thought I was dissing him and I heard he was dissing me at clubs. [Pac was the] last person I was even thinking about when I wrote that record. I was just going at everybody. So, he thought that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was like, \u2018Yo Nas, we brothers, man. We not supposed to go through this\u2019 and I was like, \u2018That\u2019s what I\u2019m saying.\u2019 We had a plan to squash it in Vegas, so I was out there when he was in the hospital and praying for him to come through.
