BOSTON \u2014\u00a0There\u2019s a \u201cgood chance\u201d Giancarlo Stanton plays in the outfield at some point during the Yankees\u2019 upcoming series<\/a> against the Red Sox, Aaron Boone said on MLB Network Radio on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Stanton hasn\u2019t app<\/a>eared in the outfield since 2019, as the Yankees have tried to prevent injury to the slugger, who has dealt with lower body ailments for much of his time in The Bronx.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t play the outfield when the Yankees were in Philadelphia for a pair of game<\/a>s in June.<\/p>\n

At the time, Stanton and Boone pointed to the series the Yankees are set to play next week in Miami as a likely return to the field, but with the team dealing with a severe lack of depth in the outfield due to injuries and COVID-19, the schedule to use Stanton more than as just a DH could be bumped up.<\/p>\n
