After spending some time away from the comic book movie scene, Goyer\u2019s opening up about his past experiences and details of one of his most memorable run-ins with some clueless studio executives.<span id=\"more-686704\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Studio_Speak\"><\/span>Studio Speak<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In a wide-ranging interview with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-features\/david-s-goyer-interview-1234983774\/\">THR<\/a>, Goyer is asked about the absolute worst studio note he ever received on one of his <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>, not including the time he was told to \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/movies\/the-marvel-movies-david-goyer-almost-made-included-doctor-strange-and-nick-fury\/\">take the magic out<\/a>\u201d of his Doctor Strange <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOne note I got was on <em><strong>Man of Steel<\/strong><\/em>, where the ending involves Superman utilizing the pod that he arrived in as a child in order to bring down <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a> Zod\u2019s ship. The note we got from the studio said, \u2018You have to change that.\u2019 We asked why. They said, \u2018Because if Superman uses that pod and it\u2019s destroyed while saving the city, how is he ever going to get back home to Krypton?\u2019 There was just this long pause and we said, \u2018Krypton blew up. This is just one of those stories that almost singlehandedly sets back the general perception of the entire profession, no way around it.<\/p>\n<p>To help balance things out, Goyer also describes what the <em>best<\/em> note he ever received happened to be.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI actually received some pretty good notes from [Apple TV development head] Matt Cherniss \u2014 and I\u2019m not just saying that because <em><strong>Foundation<\/strong><\/em> is a pending project. Early on in the process, I used to talk about how time is a character on the show. And we were twisting ourselves around the axle of trying to figure out, how do we deal with these complicated time jumps and slightly left-of-center story structures? And he just said, \u2018Fuck it, just lean into it.\u2019 So we broke with traditional story structures in various ways. The structure changes from episode to episode. Most of the time, studio executives say, \u2018How do you make it more normal? How do you make it fall in line with what the audience would expect?\u2019 He encouraged me to not do that, which was unusual.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>See, they\u2019re not all so bad!<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->Studios aside, professional screenwriting is a fraught business and the final draft doesn\u2019t always reflect the talents of the actual writer. Goyer points to a few of his projects that he feels most captures his original intentions: \u201cThe films I thought reflected my work accurately were the <em>Dark Knight<\/em> films.
