leaving the Texas city at the heart of the border crisis are struggling to keep up with business \u2014 because they\u2019re full of illegal immigrants released into the US by overwhelmed Border Patrol agents, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n<p>Since the crisis erupted following President Biden\u2019s election, the four bus companies that operate out of the Central Station bus terminal in McAllen, Texas, have added as many as six daily routes, totaling 250 seats \u2014 but it\u2019s still not enough, City Manager Roy Rodriguez said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t have enough private bus seats to get everyone out,\u201d Rodriguez told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>The demand for tickets out of town is at a \u201crecord\u201d high, with \u201cmost, if not all\u201d of the recent increase coming from migrants who were caught crossing the border illegally and released pending future court <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earances, Rodriguez said, citing information pulled together by class=\"credit\">USBP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAll seats are already purchased for tomorrow,\u201d Rodriguez said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, if somebody wants to buy a bus fare to head north, they have to wait two days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Central Station has also seen a 50 percent surge in the number of passengers hanging around and waiting to leave, he said, adding, \u201cThat\u2019s substantial because we\u2019re a pretty busy bus station to begin with.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Greyhound Lines \u2014 the country\u2019s largest bus company and one of the four that provide service to and from McAllen \u2014 acknowledged a spike in demand for <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> from the southern border since March and said that \u201csome of the increase can \u201cwould welcome assistance from the government as we continue to work diligently to provide travel support to migrant families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile it is not Greyhound\u2019s responsibility to specifically transport migrants, Greyhound strives to treat all passengers with dignity,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives for three other carriers \u2014 Trailways, Tornado Bus Co. and\u00a0El Expreso Bus Co. \u2014 didn\u2019t respond to inquiries.<\/p>\n<p>McAllen is located in the Rio Grande Valley, one of nine regions in the Border Patrol\u2019s southern jurisdiction, which has seen more illegal immigration than any other, with 260,000 migrants stopped there since Feb. 1, according to federal data.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img half of the migrants were in family groups, the statistics show.<\/p>\n<p>Once caught by Border Patrol agents, they are processed and then sent to a government-run, coronavirus-testing site across from the bus terminal.<\/p>\n<p>After being tested, the migrants are escorted to a nearby center run by Catholic Charities, where they stay for an average of 24 hours while making arrangements to travel further into the US.<\/p>\n<p>The center now accommodates a record average of 7,000 people a week, with about half leaving by bus and the rest by airplane, Rodriguez said.<\/p>\n<figure migrants are supposed to be released from custody with a manila envelope containing instructions on when and where they\u2019re supposed to appear in federal immigration court, the Department of Homeland Security acknowledged earlier this year that doesn\u2019t always happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn some cases, families are placed in removal proceedings further along in the release process rather than while they are at the border patrol\u00a0station,\u201d DHS said in late March.<\/p>\n<p>Rodriguez said McAllen has no choice but to deal with the influx and praised the assistance provided by Catholic Charities, saying, \u201cThank God for them because I don\u2019t know where we\u2019d be without them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re continuing to attempt to ensure that everyone is tested so that anyone is removed from the line, whether it be the bus or the airplane, and that\u2019s the best that they can do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese folks are not coming across to stay here
