{"id":306223,"date":"2021-07-23T07:22:23","date_gmt":"2021-07-23T04:22:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/yankees-bullpen-implodes-in-brutal-loss-to-rival-red-sox\/"},"modified":"2021-07-23T07:22:23","modified_gmt":"2021-07-23T04:22:23","slug":"yankees-bullpen-implodes-in-brutal-loss-to-rival-red-sox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/yankees-bullpen-implodes-in-brutal-loss-to-rival-red-sox\/","title":{"rendered":"#Yankees bullpen implodes in brutal loss to rival Red Sox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Yankees bullpen implodes in brutal loss to rival Red Sox<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>BOSTON \u2014 The Yankees lost in wild fashion Thursday night, as reliever Brooks Kriske followed Chad Green\u2019s implosion with one of his own.<\/p>\n<p>Kriske threw four wild pitches in the 10th inning and Hunter Renfroe\u2019s sacrifice fly scored Xander Bogaerts from third to give the Red Sox a 5-4 win at Fenway Park.<\/p>\n<p>The undermanned Yankees, in the ninth inning, were one out away from a fifth straight win, which would have continued an improbable run with some of their top players sidelined.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Green\u2019s struggles continued. Post: Charles Wenzelberg<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But Kriske entered in the bottom of the 10th and threw a wild pitch that sent Boston\u2019s free runner, Rafael Devers, to third. A second wild pitch scored Devers to tie the game before Kriske walked Bogaerts to bring up J.D. Martinez.<\/p>\n<p>Bogaerts moved to second and then to third, on Kriske\u2019s third and fourth wild pitches of the inning, before Martinez whiffed. But Renfroe followed with a fly ball to right to win it.<\/p>\n<p>With the loss, the Yankees fell eight games back of the first-place Red Sox, wasting a go-ahead single from Giancarlo Stanton in the eighth and 5 \u00b2\/\u2083 scoreless innings from Jordan Montgomery.<\/p>\n<p>        <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Podcast\" width=\"100%\" height=\"188px\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.acast.com\/pinstripe-pod\/joetorretalksfondyankeesmemories-mlbworries?accentColor=2a2a2a&amp;bgColor=f6f6f6&amp;font-family=proxima%20nova&amp;logo=false&amp;secondaryColor=cc3333\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden;\"><br \/>\n        <\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Yankees were without relievers Zack Britton and Aroldis Chapman after both lefties had pitched the previous two days.<\/p>\n<p>In the bottom of the ninth, with the Yankees up 3-1, Green gave up one-out singles to Alex Verdugo and Bobby Dalbec before pinch-hitter Kevin Plawecki flied out to left.<\/p>\n<p>Hernandez then came through.<\/p>\n<p>After Boston tied it at 1-1 with an unearned run in the seventh, the Yankees scored twice in the eighth.<\/p>\n<p>LeMahieu led off the inning with a walk off ex-Yankee Adam Ottavino and then stole second.
